Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026. This policy explains how Ascot Atelier LLC collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase at ascotatelier.com. Our store is powered by Shopify. By using the site, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.
What We Collect
What information do you collect directly from me?
When you place an order or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, and payment confirmation details. If you create an account, we store your username, password, and preferences. Personalization text and files you submit for engraving are stored with your order. If you contact support, we keep a record of that communication.
Do you collect data automatically when I browse?
Yes. Like most websites, we automatically collect device and usage information, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and how you navigate the site. This is done through cookies and similar technologies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.
Do you receive information from third parties?
Yes. Our store runs on Shopify, which processes payments and stores order data on our behalf. Payment processors collect your card or account details to complete transactions. We may also receive information from advertising and analytics partners when you interact with our ads or visit our site.
How We Use Your Information
Why do you need my personal information?
To process and fulfill your order, produce your engraving to the text you submitted, send order confirmations and shipping updates, manage your account, handle replacement claims, and respond to your support requests. Without this information we cannot complete your purchase.
Will you send me marketing, and do you advertise to me?
We may send promotional emails about new products and offers, and you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. We also show online advertisements for our products on other websites and platforms, which may be based on items you viewed or added to your cart. You can opt out of this by following the steps under Your Rights below.
Do you use my data for security and fraud prevention?
Yes. We use your information to authenticate your account, secure payments, and detect or investigate fraudulent, illegal, or malicious activity. Keep your account credentials private. If you believe your account has been compromised, email support@ascotatelier.com immediately.
Do you use my data for legal reasons?
We use personal information to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process including requests from law enforcement, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms and policies.
Sharing Your Information
Who do you share my data with?
With Shopify and other vendors who perform services on our behalf, including payment processing, fulfillment and shipping, cloud storage, analytics, and customer support. With business and marketing partners who help us advertise our products, who use your information under their own privacy notices. With third parties when you direct or consent to it, such as when we ship you an order. And in connection with a business transaction, legal obligation, subpoena, or to protect our rights and those of our users.
What is Shopify's role?
The site is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your use of it. Information you submit is transmitted to Shopify and may be processed in countries other than where you live. We also use Shopify enhanced features that draw on data from your interactions with our store and with other merchants. For those features Shopify is responsible for the processing, and you can review the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy to learn more or exercise your rights.
Cookies
What are cookies and do you use them?
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep your cart active, remember your preferences, measure how the site is used, and support advertising. For details on the cookies Shopify sets, see shopify.com/legal/cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Your Rights
What rights do I have over my personal data?
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it or have it transferred to a third party, and to withdraw consent. These rights are not absolute and may apply only in certain circumstances. To exercise any of them, email support@ascotatelier.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request.
Can I opt out of targeted advertising?
Yes. Depending on where you reside, you may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of its processing for targeted advertising. Email us to make that request, or visit the Shopify Privacy Portal. If you visit our site with the Global Privacy Control signal enabled, we will treat it as an opt-out request for that browser and device. We do not respond to other Do Not Track signals.
What if I have a complaint?
Email us and we will address it. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision by contacting us again, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Do you collect data from children?
No. The site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We have no actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security & Transfers
How is my information secured and how long is it kept?
No security measure is perfect, and information sent to us may not be secure in transit, so please do not use unsecured channels to send sensitive information. How long we retain your data depends on whether we need it to maintain your account, provide our services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
Is my information transferred internationally?
Your information is stored and processed in the United States, and we may transfer, store, and process it outside the country you live in. For transfers out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognized mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the destination has been determined to provide an adequate level of protection.
What about links to other websites?
Our site may link to platforms operated by third parties. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy or security practices. Review their policies before sharing information with them.
Google Account Data and Our Marketing Tool
What is Ascot Atelier Marketing?
Ascot Atelier Marketing is an internal tool used only by Ascot Atelier LLC staff to manage our own advertising and product listings. It is not offered to customers or the public, and you never sign in to it.
Which Google data does it access?
With our own authorization, the tool connects to Google Ads and Google Merchant Center through Google's APIs. It reads and updates data in accounts that we own: campaigns, budgets, ad performance reports, conversion settings, and our product listings. It does not access any customer's Google account, Gmail, contacts, files, or other personal Google data.
How is that data used and stored?
We use it only to run and measure our own ads and keep our product listings accurate. Access tokens and reports are stored on our own systems with restricted access. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties, and we do not use it for any purpose other than managing our own accounts.
Limited Use
Ascot Atelier Marketing's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How do I ask a question about this?
Email support@ascotatelier.com.
Updates & Contact
Can this policy change?
Yes. We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and operational reasons. We will post the revised version here, update the date at the top, and provide notice where required by law.
How do I contact you about privacy?
Email support@ascotatelier.com with any question about this policy or to exercise your rights. We respond within one business day and in all cases within the time required by applicable law.
